I just upgraded from phpBB2 to phpBB3 software! YESH! It was hard as heck trying to get through all these errors and having to fix stuff up, but it was worth it. I'm still fixing things and changing the settings, there is a lot of different stuff going on. Most of it is good (which is why I switched) and only a small amount is bad.
But, this is sure to make things a heck of a lot easier. Please tell me ASAP if you find issues with permissions and such, I really have no idea how the permission configurations work on these forums and I have a lot of work to do for that. I at least deleted thousands of spambots!!
